Job Description:

EVRaid is seeking a Senior Powertrain Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced cybersecurity solutions for our ePowertrain (ePT) systems. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our vehicle powertrain components against cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in automotive cybersecurity standards, risk assessments, and secure communication protocols

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust automotive cybersecurity architectures for ePowertrain systems, ensuring the protection of critical vehicle functions
  • Conduct threat analyses and risk assessments for ePowertrain components using Medini to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies 
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29 R155/R156, and other automotive cybersecurity standards 
  • Plan and execute cybersecurity testing, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and secure code reviews to identify and mitigate security risks 
  • Develop and implement secure communication protocols for in-vehicle networks to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access 
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity measures throughout the vehicle development lifecycle 
  • Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements and recommend modifications for non-compliant items 
  • Stay updated with emerging automotive cybersecurity threats and recommend proactive solutions to safeguard vehicle systems

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive cybersecurity, with a focus on powertrain or vehicle systems
  • Strong knowledge of Medini Analyze, TARA (Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment), and cryptographic security principles 
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management in automotive systems 
  • Proficiency in AUTOSAR, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and other in-vehicle communication protocols 
  • Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and its intersection with cybersecurity 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with embedded systems security and over-the-air (OTA) update security
  • Certifications such as Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Professional (CACSP), CISSP, or CEH are a plus 
  • Experience with machine learning applications in cybersecurity threat detection
