Job Summary:
EVRaid is seeking a highly skilled Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Function Developer to contribute to the development of advanced powertrain control strategies for hybrid and range-extended electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will focus on ICE modeling, control algorithm development, and real-time implementation to optimize performance, efficiency, and emissions compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ICE control algorithms for hybrid powertrains, including torque demand handling, fuel injection, ignition timing, and thermal management
- Design and implement engine start/stop, transient response, and fuel efficiency optimization functions
- Ensure compliance with emissions regulations through after-treatment system integration
- Develop and validate model-based control functions using MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded C
- Implement real-time control software on AUTOSAR-compliant ECU platforms
- Perform MiL, SiL, and HiL testing to validate control strategies before vehicle deployment
- Work closely with powertrain engineers, calibration teams, and vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless operation
- Conduct dyno-based and on-road validation for control strategy refinement
- Optimize engine efficiency and emissions under various operating conditions
- Implement OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) strategies for fault detection and compliance with global emissions regulations

Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional
safety requirements
Must Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in ICE function development and powertrain control
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded C for model-based software development
- Experience with ECU development, calibration tools (INCA, ATI Vision, or ETAS INCA), and CAN communication protocols (CANalyzer, CANoe, or XCP/CCP)
- Hands-on experience with MiL, SiL, and HiL testing environments
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, combustion processes, and emissions control strategies

26262) and OBD diagnostics
Nice to have
- Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and embedded software development
- Understanding of hybrid powertrain architectures and energy management strategies
